Owner Operator truck drivers, also known as “Independent Contractors,” own their own truck and are their own boss. An Owner Operator can own a single truck or have multiple trucks, or own a small fleet of trucks.
Owner-operators are responsible for all expenses involved in operating their business. Expenses will include maintenance, repairs, tires, business and personal Insurance and fuel.
Owner-operators are also responsible for ensuring their trucks and trucks within their fleet are in compliance with all DOT regulations.
