Local Truck Driver Jobs Hiring Now
Local truck drivers handle local deliveries for a company. Their responsibilities include transporting goods, maintaining the vehicle in good operating condition, planning routes, following delivery schedules, documenting work and rest periods, and loading and unloading goods.
Requirements to have a local driving job will include:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Experience driving a large company van or truck preferred
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Experience using hand trucks and electric lifts
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal communicator
A local truck driver can have a Class A, B or C license.
The average pay for a Local Truck Driver in 2024 is $60,000+ a year.
